24-Hour Cupcake ATM Opens On Upper East Side, New York

n the city that never sleeps, you’ll now be able to satisfy your cupcake craving at any time you want thanks to a 24-hour cupcake dispensing machine, which opened Tuesday on the Upper East Side.

Charles Nelson, who along with his wife founded Sprinkles Cupcakes, told the New York Post the machine lets you buy fresh, gourmet cupcakes with the push of a button.

The pink cupcake ATM, located on Lexington Avenue between 60th and 61st streets next to Nelson’s bakery, can hold 760 cupcakes and will be restocked several times a day, Nelson told the Post.

“Once a customer chooses a flavor they want, the robotic arm goes to that location, pulls the cupcake, keeps it level in its perfect little box and delivers it to the door and there you go,” Mara Weber of Sprinkle Cupcakes, told WCBS 880’s Marla Diamond.

Flavors include red velvet, peanut buttercup, lemon meringue and Cuban coffee.
