A Build-It-Yourself Mini Barrel for DIY Aging Spirits

Despite the boom in craft drinks, not everyone interested in producing their own booze has enough space—or resources—do so.

And not every alcohol lover has the expertise for making quality drinks (or the time to learn).

But a DIY barrel could make things much easier. Made of charred, white oak, the DIY Mini Whiskey Barrel can age wine, spirits or cocktails for anywhere from two days to two weeks. For aged cocktails, the process can even work in just 24 to 48 hours.

The mini barrel comes from the team at Clawhammer Supply Company, founded by coppersmith Kyle Brown. The company produces high-quality copper distillation and brewing parts. The barrel was the result of experimentation and the makers realized other people would probably be interested in aging their own alcohol, too.
