A town in Japan built a bar made entirely from recycled garbage

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure – or an entire town’s trendy bar and brewery.

The town of Kamikatsu in Japan recycles around 80% of its waste, with its residents sorting their garbage into an incredible 34 categories. The community envisions a zero waste future, and to show that it’s possible, they’ve built a house made entirely from reclaimed materials.

The structure is called the Kamikatz Public House. It features a bar, a brewery, as well as living areas. The materials used here include windows from nearby abandoned homes, bottles turned into a chandelier, and newspapers repurposed as wallpaper.
