You may think that all those vegan, body-beautiful, yoga-posing, wellness-types over in LA might choose a wheatgrass shot over a dose of the hard stuff.
But you’d be wrong.
Apparently, they’ve all decided that our old friend tequila is something of a wellness drink.
It’s vegan. It’s gluten-free.
And crucially, blanco tequila – which is the purest type made from 100% agave – doesn’t give you a hangover.
So that means they can all be on their yoga mats or in their HIIT sessions the next morning without vomming.
Other types of the spirit are made from a mixture of different types of sugar, which are often blamed for feeling rough the next day.
‘We have a lot of trainers and fitness gurus who come in and drink every day,’ Jason Eisner, director at Gracias Madre – a trendy vegan Hollywood bar – tells The Cut. ‘The way they’re able to do that is to stick to pure agave spirits.
‘As long as you stay hydrated and don’t drink, like, a whole bottle, you’re fine. Not hungover.’
