Are we facing a global shortage of orange juice?

Your breakfast table is set to be transformed as the result of freak weather in South America.

The price of orange juice is set to soar after a heatwave in Brazil hit the harvest.

Experts say temperatures nudging 40C during the crucial growing period had a critical impact on production and will cause a worldwide shortage of oranges.

Crops are already down 15 per cent near Sao Paolo and Minas Gerais and the country’s overall fresh orange harvest is set to plummet by 14 per cent to 351 million boxes.
