Benguela Cove Reveals New Vintage Wines with Sexy New Labels

After months of creative collaboration and meticulous focus on attention to detail Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate is excited to reveal its sexy new label. This premium gold foil embossed design embodies the luxury and opulence of the estate from where it hails.

Bottles with the new labels will be introduced to the market gradually, as the new vintages are released, and the full transition is expected to be complete by end-2016. The red cultivars boast a black label dipped in gold and the white cultivars boast a white label with golden accents.

The first wines to be release with the new labels is the Benguela Cove Shiraz 2014 and new cultivar additions the Benguela Cove Merlot 2014 and Benguela Cove Cabernet Sauvignon 2014. These premium wines are produced using only the best harvesting methods and eventual vinification.

Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate is a 200 hectare lifestyle farm and exclusive luxury estate situated in Walker Bay, Hermanus. Overlooking the Bot River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean; the favourable maritime conditions ensures that this unique terroir produces outstanding quality grapes.

The south-easterly sea breeze is chilled by the Benguela Current flowing up from Antarctica, to cool the grapes at night after the warm summer days, irrigated by above-average rainfall, for perfect viticulture. These exceptional conditions and the skills of the winemaker have resulted in these superb wines.

The Benguela Cove Shiraz 2014 was aged in a combination of new (28%) and older (72%) French oak barrels for 12 months and this young and vibrant wine exhibits a vivid purple hue and fine legs. A seductive nose reflects beautiful rich and ripe fruit flavours, some indigenous fynbos notes and hints of white pepper, cinnamon and cloves. A lush, sweet palate is given definition with delicate spice and cherry flavours. Finely integrated tannins and a style reminiscent of the Northern Rhone shows the promise of great longevity. Available at R160.
