Following the successful launch of Cape Town’s Urban Brandy Cocktail Route earlier this year, a further 5 establishments have now been added to the route line-up.
The recent expansion of this popular route means that visitors are now able to enjoy unique brandy cocktail creations at ten diverse venues across Cape Town. A further ten additions are also scheduled for coming months – and all in perfect time for Spring!
The Urban Brandy Cocktail Route celebrates the renewed interest in Cape Town’s cool inner city environment and presents a truly fitting way to appreciate SA’s favourite spirit in its contemporary cocktail form. The route offers both Capetonians and visitors the opportunity to create their own personalised ‘travel and taste’ itinerary, as well as the ability to experience SA’s favourite spirit in all its guises – shaken, mixed, muddled or strained – but always masterfully modern. Cool bars, cocktails lounges, vibey restaurants and ‘hip and happening’ hotspots make up the selection of the venues along the route.
“We have been overwhelmed by the public’s response to the cocktails they’ve experienced along the route thus far,” says Christelle Reade-Jahn, Director of The SA Brandy Foundation. “Diners and visitors who’ve sampled cocktails at the selection of top venues along the route say they are bowled over by these iconic cocktails – and surprised by the extraordinary versatility of SA’s premium brandies.”
All venues currently offer a bespoke menu featuring a selection of eight cocktails, each with a premium South African brandy as its base. The full list of venues now includes Shimmy Beach Club, Knock Knock Bar, Hudson’s Burger Joint, Mano a Mano, Societi Bistro, The One & Only Hotel, Jackal & Hide, Frères Bistro, Tjing Tjing Rooftop Bar and Roxy’s Café.
As the official transport partner of the route, Rikki’s taxis are on-hand to guide route-goers, ensure they make the most of their experience, and also have a safe trip home.
