Drink your way through Game of Thrones with the Wolftrap

What do you call the move where John Snow with the forces of the North and the Riverlands tricks the Night King into an ambush? The Wolftrap obviously!

After a summer of almost ten years, the words of House Stark have finally become reality once again: winter has come. Winter is here to stay in the Seven Kingdoms which will make the gruelling task of claiming your throne that much more difficult. Much the same way winter came to Cape Town over the past few weeks but it clearly wasn’t here to stay for long and we’re not sure if it will come back either.

Luckily for us, we have a distinct and local favourite making its own journey from vine to glass, all the way from Boekenhoutskloof in Franschhoek. This rich, deep red blend that includes Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Viognier, will make any heart warm this winter. The Wolftrap wine series. The Wolftrap Red Syrah is a personal favourite.

No evidence of wolves has ever been found in the Franschhoek mountains though, so the Masters of Boekenhoutskloof created this wine to remind us of the mysteries and legends of days gone by. Which is probably why it is best served with the newest episode of GOT. In this case, a Wolftrap White, perhaps?

Grab your bottle of The Wolftrap if John’s house tickles you, or any other house for that matter, you don’t need an excuse…

…and it’s going to be so good seeing John again.
