Regarded as one of the most prestigious industry competitions of the year, the Franschhoek Vignerons celebrated with multiple wins at this year’s Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards. The results were announced at a gala event held on 26 September.
The internationally recognized competition gives local wines the opportunity of being judged by an international panel of wine experts. International judges are hand-picked and serve on the panel by invitation only, making it one of South Africa’s most prestigious annual wine competitions.
Five producers were awarded Gran d’Or Medals (equivalent to a Double Gold) for their wines. These were awarded to:
