The actor was recently poached as the American Egg Board’s newest celebrity apostle, using his last name as a gateway to educate Americans about the benefits of eggs — the world’s most perfect protein. “With a last name like Bacon, I’m the obvious choice, and I’m excited to be a part of the new Incredible Edible Egg campaign,” Bacon said in a statement. “I like the creativity behind the idea, and I’ve always been a big fan of eggs.”

It’s hard not to back the campaign’s fun play-on-words… and eggs in general. They’re a terrific, versatile food that boasts incredible (edible) benefits, like curbing food cravings, reducing blood pressure and even improving reflexes.
