Infographic shows how long your bottle of wine will last once opened

Can you drink a Sauvignon Blanc after its been in the fridge for a week? And how long will an open bottle of bubbly last?

And should that carafe of red which has been sitting on the kitchen counter be tipped down the sink or will it pass muster with your dinner tonight?

While fortified wines such as port can last for up to a month, there are some wines which barely last three days before becoming undrinkable.

According to an infographic by WineFolly each wine has a different storage period.

Although sparkling wines, such as Cava or Champagne can quickly lose their fizz after being opened, they can still be drunk three days after, but only if the bottle is plugged with a sparkling wine stopper.
