Margaux Nel, the winemaker at Boplaas Wines in Calitzdorp, ran into braai legend Jan Braai at the annual National Braai Tour.

The National Braai Tour is held annually in celebration of Heritage Month, with teams taking a road trip across the country, enjoying the local sights and never missing a moment to stop and embrace South Africa’s enduring passion – grilling meat over an open flame.

Margaux gave Jan a taste of the Boplaas Cape Vintage Port during the trip and the braai legend gave it a double thumbs-up.

Many people have discovered that Vintage Port is a very enjoyable and memorable way to finish a meal and indeed it is now frequently served as a very satisfying dessert in its own right. It also works great for marinating steaks and sosaties.
