Jubilee whisky is fit for a Queen

A RARE bottle of whisky blended to mark the Queen’s Jubilee went on display today — with a price tag of £100,000.

The decanter of Diamond Jubilee whisky by John Walker & Sons is one of just 60 made for sale worldwide.

The drink has been expertly crafted from a blend of rare malt and grain Scotch Whiskies which has been maturing since 1952, the year of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.

The blend was finished in casks of oak from the Queen’s Sandringham Estate and bottled at Royal Lochnagar Distillery, on the edge of the Balmoral Estate.

The decanter has been put on display at The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh.
