We all know that unless you’re some kind of tequila connoisseur (if you are, cool. Let’s be friends), shots of tequila are simply the go-to way to ramp a night out up a few notches.
It’s not exactly pretty. It’s often unpleasant. You down the shot, bite a lime, and make a show of fake-retching.*

But now, at least that experience can be aesthetically pleasing – because pink tequila is a thing that exists in the world.
As Refinery29 notes, Código 1530 Rosa Tequila first became available in the US in 2016, previously having been a local recipe enjoyed by tequila makers and their family.
