MasterChef Australia and South Africa meet over a meal

Australian celebrity chef and frequent MasterChef guest Neil Perry will be combining his considerable culinary skills with those of South African MasterChef judge and Tsogo Sun’s executive chef Benny Masekwameng on Monday at an exclusive media lunch for local and international media at Tsogo Sun’s newest addition to its family of hotels and casinos, 54 on Bath.

Neil, who runs the Rockpool restaurants and is the Qantas executive chef, is in South Africa with a group of international media from Australia on a visit organised by SA Tourism. As a highlight of the Johannesburg leg of the trip, which is being hosted by Tsogo Sun, Neil will be joining Benny in the 54 on Bath kitchen and serving a uniquely African menu created by Benny.

In the luxurious and welcoming atmosphere of Level Four, the fabulous new restaurant at 54 on Bath which is attracting rave reviews, Neil and Benny will prepare a meal with a distinctly African influence, showcasing the very best of our local ingredients, the dessert will be presented as a collaborative creation by Neil and Benny.

Both men have contributed significantly to their respective countries’ MasterChef programmes and enjoyed the overwhelming support for the series by viewers. Tsogo Sun partnered with MNET’s MasterChef SA as the proud hospitability sponsor of the series, which recently ended with Deena Naidoo as the worthy winner of the title and generous prizes, which include a joint venture with Tsogo Sun for a period of two years to operate the ideally located MondoVino restaurant on the Montecasino piazza.
