Mumford and Sons Hard at Work on Signature Whiskey

Glastonbury headliners are reportedly keen to distill their own whiskey. The band, who recently set up their own record label, confirmed the plans for move into distilling their own alcohol with keyboard player Ben Lovett telling The Sun: “It’ll happen. It takes a few years to make, so we better cracking.”

Lovett also confirmed that the band will take the rest of 2013 off before starting work on their third album in 2014. “We’re incredibly excited. Our third album can be anything we want it to be.”

Word on the street is that the whiskey will not be sold in stores, but rather will be hand-delivered by the band members themselves. The band plans to cram into the old rowboat from the fall 2012 Anthropologie catalogue and hook up landlocked customers by lowering cases of Mumford whiskey from the cockpit of a bespoke zeppelin using antique hemp ropes, we are told.
