Pizza and Chenin for the people

Left off the invitation list for Chenin Blanc Producer Association gigs (can’t blame them really as I have an awful habit of speaking my mind and unlike the Sauvignon Blanc Interest Group, they don’t even ask me to judge their wine) I’ve decided that Chenin Blanc is simply te lekker to be left to SA marketing mavens and have decided to punt it myself. My first gig is ZA, a pop-up Chenin Pizzeria at Food|Wine|Design next month, as I reported in the Sunday Times Food Weekly on Sunday. Teaming up with Gianni Mariano of Mastrantonio fame, one of the first people we invited was Charles Banks who loves za so much, he lured Paul Gouveia away from the Temptations of Tulbagh to Mulderbosch, were he now does the business.
