Steenberg Vineyards has introduced three new wines to its portfolio. Named after three tall ships in the Royal Navy fleet that defeated the Dutch in the Battle of Muizenberg in 1795, the new additions include a Rosé, Chardonnay and Cabernet/Shiraz blend.

It’s often difficult to get excited about everyday vegetables, such as broccoli.

When it comes to food, what might be labeled “exotic” for one person is just plain-old dinner for someone else.

Steenberg’s new vintage of Shiraz is showing beautifully at the moment.

Another one of those terrible days.  With a storm sweeping in from the North West, we headed off to Steenberg to meet Marketing manager Caroline van Schalkwyk in the tasting lounge, where she welcomed us warmly with a glass of their new Sauvignon Blanc bubbly.

Our newly released Catharina 2012 Red Blend is delicious and is on special at a 20% discount for R164.00 per bottle. Full bodied, rich with ripe berries, cigar box and floral aromas – it is perfect for winter.

For those of you who have yet to hear, our Magna Carta 2011 won the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show Grand Roche Trophy for Best White Blend in South Africa. We could not be more proud! The Magna Carta 2011 was also chosen as one of the wines to represent South Africa in the Six Nations Wine Challenge.

For the month of June, Steenberg’s Cellar Door offers you the Echo Red Blend at a 20% discount, selling for June at R81.60. The Echo recently won a Top 6 Classic Wine award for Red Bordeaux Blends in South Africa. We could not be more proud!

In five days from today it will be exactly 799 years since the signing of the Magna Carta – The Great Charter of the Liberties of England by King John.

From the 2nd of June, Chef Brad Ball and his team invite your taste buds to tour Italy at Steenberg.
