Prosecco sales are up more than 150% in the last year as savvy sparkling wine fans keep an eye on the pennies.

The bargain Italian bubbly is expected to account for one in four bottles of fizz being drunk this Christmas with Tesco predicting demand will rocket by a further 50%.
