Harvest 2014

What a great harvest year it’s been! Read more about the fruits of our winemaking team’s love and labour here.

Featured Wines

We are particularly excited about our 2013 La Capra Sangiovese. A new offering, the wine boasts a beautiful natural acidity and an easy drinking freshness.  It’s light but still presents enough intensity of flavour. We reckon it’s perfect as a lunchtime wine with Mediterranean- or al fresco-style dining, such as that enjoyed at our Goatshed Restaurant.

Another exciting new wine that is already proving to be a great success is the recently bottled 2014 Fairview Sauvignon Blanc. A rich and complex Sauvignon, it presents a good balanced palate, avoiding the prominent leanness, acidity and grassiness that can be found in Sauvignon Blanc. Tropical flavours are dominant, and the Darling terroir is respected in the wine, which shows a bit of a fynbos character on the palate too.

Fairview wines at Woolworths

We are delighted to announce that the Fairview Viognier and Fairview Mourvèdreare now available in selected Woolworths stores throughout the Western Cape and Gauteng.

More than ever to delight at the Fairview deli

Have you visited our ever-expanding deli lately? The space that used to play host to our cheese shop now boasts a wide range of artisanal Fairview foodie products in addition to our famous cheeses. Find out more about our wide new range of deli products here.

Fairview’s revolutionary new natural yoghurt

We are so excited about our new Greek-style strained yoghurt.

Free from starches, stabilisers, sugar, flavourants and preservatives, the full fat yoghurt is made only from the milk of pasture-fed Jersey cows and traditional yoghurt cultures.  A natural process involving drainage through muslin cloth (to avoid the need for moisture-binding starches and stabilisers) is used to make the unique yoghurt.

With its higher milk content, Fairview yoghurt boasts over double the amount of protein than most other yoghurts.  As has been put forward by proponents of the recent low carbohydrate, high fat and high protein lifestyle (most notably in the Real Meal Revolution), the full fat and starch- and stabiliser-free nature of the yoghurt makes it a healthier option than lower fat varieties, which are often laden with sugar and lack the nutritional benefits of healthy fats. It is of course also a naturally carbohydrate-free food.

Fairview strained yoghurt is rich and creamy, and can be mixed with fruit, nuts, honey or any other topping of your choice.

The yoghurt is currently available in standard 150g tubs at the Fairview deli until the final packaged product has been launched in retail outlets.
