The 2015 Top 100 SA Wine Challenge already in day two is in full swing!

Both of the MW-led panels are tasting their way through prestigious line-ups of the most fabulous wines imaginable from the Capes top producers.  The competition is very stiff, indeed fierce, in all categories.

Shiraz and Shiraz led blends have proved to be stellar with an outstanding range of entered wines and glowing judges reviews.  Pinotage and Pinot Noir have offered numerous glowing examples that apply demonstrate fantastic wine making skills, perhaps more sensitively than has been the case in the past.

White wines are mostly showing strongly too, with Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and MCC, as well as more ‘unusual’ blends, featuring an array of cutting edge expressions.  Sauvignon Blanc proved more challenging with 2014 vintage wines struggling to properly demonstrate the lively, fresh, alert  qualities that underpin this cultivar.

A great competition is well and truly in progress.
