Longridge loves you longtime

Two things are becoming clear on our Good Value Guru progression around the winelands. Just how spectacularly wrong were the pundits when they rubbished vintage 2008 reds and just how brilliant are 2009 wines across the board. Like the Longridge Sauvignon Blanc 2009. Soft and creamy with those delicate yellow cling peach flavours bottle age can bring, it is good value at R63 a bottle and even better when they give you a free six pack with every half dozen bought. Who said Sauvignon Blanc was best in the vintage in which it was made?

Harry Kruger is the hot Helderberg’s hot alternative to a poppie in a rokkie and although he hails from Pietermaritzburg, he knows his wine. His 2011 blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Verdelho is also quite jolly but given the 50% discount applied to the 2009 single cultivar Sauvignon, there is no contest.
