Rhodes for the Waterfront?

Right thinking folk will be hoping that Max Price, Vice Chancellor of UCT, will relocate the statue of Cecil John Rhodes to the Graduate School of Business at the Waterfront. For that is one institution for whom ethics are negotiable, judging by the unqualified professors they appoint to teach wine business. Not to mention providing a roost for the grubby Tim James who fires off emails to his victims in the wine world from a UCT e-mail account, cloaking his manic inferiority with pseudo academic “credibility”. What a total box!

Meanwhile UCT incontinents fling poo at the Colossus and even print some in the Guardian. For according to that organ, Cecil was “responsible for the beginnings of enforced racial segregation policies in South Africa, with his early drafting of the Natives Land Act which later came into effect in 1913. Upon his death in 1902 Rhodes donated his fortune to setting up UCT.” Quite an achievement that, to draft a bill 11 years after you’ve died.

Poor old Max, to have to deal with poo and Guardian reporters. Should have stayed at Wits. Meanwhile those lucky enough to have climbed into Rhodes Food Group Holdings on the JSE are laughing all the way to the bank. One of their products is Bull Brand which is quite appropriate if you think about it.
