Rare Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Comes To South Africa

For a limited time only, Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is making its debut in South African Starbucks stores. This exquisite bean is a rare commodity and was the first to be sold for over R1000 per kilogram over ten years ago.

The rarity of this coffee lies in the conditions in which it grows – beneath the peak of the 7400-foot Blue Ridge Mountain in Jamaica and nourished by the mountain mist and fertile soil. This combination of conditions results in a balanced but sweet, refined coffee taste layered with cocoa and citrus.

Due to its rare nature, each bean is inspected and certified to meet high-quality standards before it is awarded the name, Jamaica Blue Mountain –  named after the mist that casts a blue shadow over the mountains.

Starbucks Reserve Jamaica Blue Mountain joins two other notable, high-quality Starbucks Reserve coffees available in select South African stores namely Starbucks Reserve Uganda Sipi Falls and Starbucks Reserve Honduras La Campa.

Starbucks Reserve Jamaica Blue Mountain is now available at R799.00 per 250g bag at Starbucks stores in Gauteng (Rosebank, Mall of Africa, Melrose Arch and Menlyn Maine) and in Florida Road in Durban.
