Robertson Wine Valley wines excel at the 2017 Vitis Vinifera Awards

The Robertson Wine Valley have been showing off their Midas touch at this year’s Vitis Vinifera Awards, obtaining an impressive nineteen Gold Awards for their outstanding wines.

The annual Vitis Vinifera Awards, now running in its fifth year, ran over two days and comprised of a stringent double-blind tasting. Below are the Gold awarded wine producers from the Robertson Wine Valley in alphabetical order.

Arabella Winery was awarded Gold for their Natural Sweet Rosé 2017 with its deep cherry pink colour and tropical fruit flavours as well as their Sauvignon Blanc 2017, a complex and vibrant white wine, comprising of an abundance of passion fruit and ripe fig aromas.

Ashton Winery’s Chenin Blanc 2017, Sauvignon Blanc 2017 and Shiraz 2016 wowed the judges, all obtaining Golds.

Bon Courage Estate’s Mulberry Bush Merlot 2016 and Estate Red Blend 2016 proved to be a hit amongst the judges with their soft tannins and pleasant aromas on the nose.

Kranskop Wines shone with their Shiraz 2014, Kranskop Pinot Noir 2013, Kranskop Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 and Kranskop Tannat 2015.

McGregor Winery celebrates with an astounding tally of six Gold Awards for their Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2015, Shiraz 2016, Chardonnay 2017, Colombard 2017, Red Muscadel 2016 and their White Muscadel 2016.

Last but certainly not least, it was Robertson Winery’s Constitution Road Shiraz 2014 and their Constitution Road Chardonnay 2015 that completed the valley’s golden collection.
