Soft-style Durbanville Hills Cabernet Sauvignon Released

The newly released 2012 Durbanville Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, elegant wine, perfect for enjoying with hearty winter dishes.

The grapes were selected from vineyards growing 250m above sea-level where the late-afternoon sun warms them before the cold, misty sea breezes cool the vineyards down in the evening and early morning. These conditions slow their ripening and result in exceptionally well-balanced grapes with good sugar levels and soft tannins.

The wine is soft and fruity with blackcurrant, mocha, sweet vanilla and hints of cedar wood on the nose. The palate is smooth with silky tannins and dark berry fruit flavours. Winemaker Wilhelm Coetzee recommends enjoying this wine with roast leg of lamb, gourmet beef burgers, cow’s milk hard cheeses such as mature Gouda and Cheddar.

The 2012 Durbanville Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is available nation-wide and retails for about R59.
