Specialist tastings at Riesling Rocks at Hartenberg Wine Estate

Make your way to Hartenberg Wine Estate for the second Riesling Rocks festival in the Stellenbosch Winelands on Saturday, 9 February 2013 featuring South Africa’s finest Rieslings and two specialist tastings for lovers of this versatile white varietal.

Carl Schultz, celebrated Hartenberg winemaker and one of South Africa’s Riesling masters, has invited the crème de la crème of cellars to showcase their top Weisser/Rhine Rieslings at this fabulous wine and food celebration.

In addition to sampling a wide variety of top Rieslings from leading estates such as De Wetshof, Klein Constantia, Groote Post, and many more, Thelema owner/cellarmaster, Gyles Webb, and promising, young upcoming winemaker Howard Booysen will inspire your palate with specialist tastings. Gyles will present a reflective tasting of some of his older vintages, whilst Howard will take you through a flight of four of his favourite South African Rieslings.

Possibly the most versatile of all wines, Riesling can be enjoyed with practically any food. Some of the Cape’s best purveyors of fine deli food will be providing delicious treats to enjoy with the wines, with local musicians setting a festive tone for this singular Winelands wine and food experience.

Riesling Rocks at Hartenberg takes place on Saturday, 9 February 2013 from 12h00 noon until 17h00. Tickets cost R180 per person, including a wine glass and are available either directly from Hartenberg Estate or online at www.webtickets.co.za.
