Sting reveals how his passion for music has influenced his wines

If you are a fan Sting there’s no doubt that you will be keen to lay your hands on the wines from his Il Palagio vineyard and estate in Tuscany.

With each one of the reds named after one of Sting’s greatest hits, the singer told MailOnline that he does all he can to put his own spin on the bottles.

‘I sing in the cellar,’ he said with a smile, while on board the MailOnline yacht at Cannes Lions, ‘I like to think the wine’s taken it in.

Their newest and ‘flagship’ wine is named after Sting’s hit, Message In A Bottle, which has a blend of Sangiovese, Syrah and Merlot and has complex aromas of cherries, wild blackberries and spices.

Sting says his passion is to give away bottles to his friends. ‘Our greatest pleasure is to give our wine to people that actually know about wine,’ he said.

‘Of course they look sceptical when we tell them about it, but it’s nice to see that scepticism shrink when they taste and realise it really is a good wine – that’s a great pleasure.
