The only Gold Medal for South Africa at CIDV in France for Waverley Hills

The Challenge International du Vin (CIDV) is held annually in Bordeaux, France and is the longest
running major international wine competition. More than 5,000 wines from 38 countries were tasted this year.

The Waverley Hills CW Reserve Shiraz 2012 was awarded a Gold Medal at this year’s edition and was the only Gold Medal awarded to a South African wine.

This organically made Shiraz, from a specially selected site on the Waverley Hills estate, yields only
about 2 tons per hectare and every year produce very concentrated flavours. This gives the winemaker, Johan Delport, the opportunity to use this wine for Waverley Hills` premium Shiraz and
their “top of the range” wine.

The Waverley Hills CW Reserve Shiraz 2012 has now won Gold Medals in wine competitions from three different countries. This is after earlier successes at the 2015 Michelangelo International Competition, in South Africa, where it won a Double Gold medal, as well as a Gold Medal at the 2016
International Organic Wine Awards, in Germany.
