The Royals to toast the birth of their heir with Champagne from hospital bed

It’s been reported that Duchess Catherine’s hospital birth could cost £10,000 (over R150 000) but the steep price comes with a whole lot of benefits.

The pregnant royal – who is due to give birth next month – is expected to have her and Prince William’s baby in the exclusive Lindo Wing at St Mary’s hospital in Paddington, west London.

Apart from top-of-the-line care from a dedicated maternity team including experts in obstetric, neonatal and anaesthetist care, each suite in the wing boasts a satellite TV, bedside phone, a fridge, a radio and even a safe to lock away valuable items.

Catherine, 31, will also have access to the internet and a selection of newspapers which will be delivered to her suite each morning.

The best part however, is that Duchess Catherine and Prince William, 30, will also be able to toast the birth of their heir with a glass of champagne chosen from an extensive wine list, which is made available to patients.
