Tokyo Bar celebrates Valentine`s Day with Insect Cocktails

Valentine’s Day can make any non-romantic want to gag.

Between chocolates, roses and teddy bears, the over-romantic sentiments of the holiday can get to be a bit much.

With at least 2 billion people eat insects around the world, Duranbar in central Tokyo saw a gap in the market. Last Sunday, the bar offered a special menu of drinks and desserts made with insects, ranging from cookies to juices to candied varieties. The chef and mixologist cracked out goodies that include cocktails laden with waterbugs to “caramelized worms with almonds and cashews.

Love should be about adventure, after all, shouldn’t it?
