Tsogo Sun welcomes Kamini Pather as the second winner of MasterChef SA

The name of the second MasterChef SA winner was officially announced on M-Net last night as South Africa waited with baited breath to hear which amateur chef would win the coveted title and over R1 million worth of prizes. In celebration of her win, Kamini Pather was hosted at an exclusive dinner at Tsogo Sun’s Southern Sun Hyde Park, joined by family, sponsors and media.

In an evolving partnership with M-Net to bring MasterChef SA into the homes of South Africans once again this year, Tsogo Sun was a proud monetary sponsor of MasterChef SA. In addition to being a fully-fledged tactical partner this year, Tsogo Sun has the honour of sponsoring one of the main prizes in MasterChef SA Season 2.

Noëleen Bruton, Group Marketing Director for Tsogo Sun, says, “We have a wide variety of hotels across South Africa and Africa but thought it fitting to give the winner a real treat by sending her to our luxury hotel in the Seychelles.”

Kamini Pather will be jetting off to Tsogo Sun’s idyllic tropical paradise of Maia Luxury Resort and Spa on the island of Mahé in the Seychelles. The prize includes a five-night stay for two in a villa with a panoramic ocean view, spending money, three meals a day and soft-drinks as well as business class airfares, airport taxes and transfers.

“We are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring this for Kamini Pather. Our partnership with MasterChef SA is a meeting of like-minded brands and a natural fit for us. It is also testament to Tsogo Sun’s commitment to supporting the South African hospitality industry,” says Bruton.

Throughout the second season, Tsogo Sun has given the public the opportunity to engage with MasterChef promotions on its properties. Tsogo Sun Celebrity Chef, Benny Masekwameng, once again made an appearance in the living rooms of South Africans around the country as one of the three MasterChef judges. Says Bruton, “Chefs are the lifeblood of Tsogo Sun hotels and we were extremely proud to have a chef of Benny’s calibre representing us on MasterChef. He is a home-grown South African celebrity who has forged an exceptionally successful career and is an inspiration to thousands.

“Partnering with MasterChef is an excellent fit for Tsogo Sun as it epitomises a constant striving for culinary excellence; we’re extremely proud to have had the opportunity to join M-Net in this exciting show and wish Kamini Pather a lifetime of culinary adventures,” concludes Bruton.
