Vrede en Lust recently launched its first sparkling wine to celebrate the lively, sparkling personality of Sarah, daughter of the owner of Vrede en Lust Estate, Dana Buys. It is a blend of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc, produced from grapes grown on the Vrede en Lust Estate.

The delicious bouquet of fine bubbles tantalises the palate with extraordinary freshness. Green apple and pear lend a prominent fruitiness, backed by cream and flower aromas, while this sparkling promotes a pleasing fruity finish.

Sarah is an exciting and sociable partner to middle-weight Asian dishes such as Thai noodles and sushi and can also be served as an aperitif.

At Vrede en Lust’s tasting room, visitors can now enjoy the Sarah in a uniquely shaped tasting glass that differs to that of a traditional flute. Both sommeliers and wine experts are now in favour of glasses that better show off the fizz and allow for better exploration of the aroma and taste of a sparkling wine.

On 14, 18 and 19 February visitors to the estate will also have the exclusive opportunity to enjoy Sarah along with a complimentary pairing of a handmade Macaron à la pêche, courtesy of the chef at Lust Bistro & Bakery.
