IT may be hundreds of miles from the spiritual home of Pinot Noir, but Ingrid Bates’ vineyard in North Somerset has just produced a bumper crop of the famous grapes. Thanks to the long, hot summer and hours of painstaking work, the vineyard close to Wrington is starting to bear fruit.
