A MARKET town in Yorkshire which once vied for the title of the UK’s pub capital – with more licensed premises for its size than any other town – could soon have the numbers of drinking establishments effectively capped.

 

It’s been a bumper harvest at Britain’s most northerly commercial vineyard and as Amy Jane Beer discovers, the wildlife is also enjoying the fruits of the owners’ labours.

 

As the nights draw in, memories of one of the most glorious summers in years will begin to fade.

 

Bradford-based supermarket giant Morrisons has thrown its support behind a campaign which urges a concerted and united effort for Britain to grow, source and consume more home-produced food.
