What to do with that Semi-sweet Rose

I must admit that I’m no longer a fan of semi-sweet wines. I use to be, back in the the early 90’s when we were all jamming to Bon Jovi and the likes at garage parties. Today I’m more of a “dry” girl and prefer wines with a lot of body, wood and taste. Dry wines are king in my world and when someone gave me not one, but two bottles semi-sweet Rose the other day, I almost threw it in the bin.

My faith in Bacchus prevented me and I decided to get creative. Good thing I did because this cocktail recipe is so easy and extremely tasty. Perfect to enjoy next to the pool on a hot summers day and a great way to kick-start any cocktail party.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle any unwanted semi-sweet Rose
  • couple of strawberries (cut into quarters)
  • 1 cup vodka
  • crushed ice

All of the above is shaken and strained into a preferred glass. Be fancy, wet the rim of each glass and garnish with sugar.
