Will a bottle of wine–or anything else, for that matter–chill more quickly in the freezer than in the refrigerator?

Marilyn responds:

Yes. The greater the difference in temperature between the warmer item and the cooler surrounding air, the faster heat will transfer from the warmer item until both are at the same temperature. But in the case of wine, you shouldn’t try this fast-cooling technique unless you’re vigilant.
