Winetimes.co appoints Tom Magara as editor for the newly established Kenya division.Born and raised in Kenya, he began his love affair with wine there as a kid when his aficionado parents allowed him to taste their wines. However, he only truly immersed himself wholeheartedly into wine when he joined the University of Cape Town some six years ago, as all students should. Bitten by the bug, he has been unable to put down the glass ever since.

In that period, he not only managed to successfully attain an Honours Degree in Economics, but impressively headed the “Wine and Culture Society” at UCT in 2010, has sat on a couple of local judging panels; including as an associate for Classic FM, visited over 170 wine farms in the Western Cape, run his own wine website www.kenyawines.com in an attempt to impart the knowledge he has gained to his fellow Kenyans, and began his Wine Diploma with the Cape Wine Academy.
