10-Year-Old Wine Report 2020: Delaire Graff wins a bottle of GS Cabernet 1966 worth R30 000 for best wine overall

Winemag.co.za is pleased to present the 10-Year-Old Wine Report 2020 – featuring wines from the 2010 vintage.

74 entries from 33 producers were received and these were tasted blind (labels out of sight) by the three-person panel, scoring done according to the 100-point quality scale.

Best wine overall with a score of 93 was the Port-style Cape Vintage 2010 from Stellenbosch cellar Delaire Graff, winemaker Morné Vrey receiving a bottle of GS Cabernet 1966 worth approximately R30 000 from Amorim Cork as a prize. (Image attached LtoR: Joaquim Sa; Morné Vrey; Christian Eedes)

Nederburg was the top performing cellar with seven wines rating 90-plus, these being Private Bin R163 Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 (92), Two Centuries Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 (91), The Brew Master 2010 (92), Ingenuity Red Italian Blend 2010 (91), Private Bin Eminence 2010 (92), The Winemaster’s 2010 (91) and Private Bin Edelkeur 2010 (90).

Le Riche Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2010 (92)

Ernie Els Signature 2010 (92)

Boplaas Cape Vintage Reserve Port 2010 (92)
