2013 Franschhoek Winter Wines In Review

Grey skies and impending rain clouds don’t stand a chance in dampening the spirits at the this year’s Franschhoek Winter Wines, which takes place again, for the 2nd year,  at the Franschhoek Motor Museum, L’Ormarins Estate. Regarded as one of South Africa’s leading wine and culinary destinations, some of Franschhoek’s finest wineries showcase their top winter wines at this intimate event.

This year is no exception with a total of 25 wineries participating. Visitors can look forward to sampling superb wines and interacting with the winemakers from the following establishments:

Visitors to the event can relax and unwind in a warm and cosy environment, taking in the beauty of the surroundings as live entertainment throughout the day assures guests of a memorable experience. Car enthusiasts are spoilt for choice as the Franschhoek Motor Museum offers visitors a unique opportunity to look back at more than 100 years of motoring history.  This includes an extraordinary and exciting collection of vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and memorabilia in the magnificent setting of L’Ormarins.

Following hot on the heels of is yet another festival favourite, the Franschhoek Uncorked Festival which takes place over the weekend of 7 and 8 September. The festival celebrates the start of spring as wine farms in and around Franschhoek welcomes the warmer weather by showcasing their exciting new vintages and releases.
