4th Of July Shots and Cocktails

Deciding what to drink over the 4th of July weekend can be a trail. With red, white and blue being the colour of the moment, these patriotic cocktails and Independence Day shots will add a spark to your party.

The Firecracker

Listen to the pop ‘rockets’ explode as you sip on this patriotic refreshment made with vodka and lemonade.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml vodka
  • 20 ml curacao
  • 15 ml Grenadine
  • lemonade

Instructions

RIM YOUR GLASS: (OPTIONAL)

  1. Put a dollop of honey on a flat plate. Roll the lip of your glass through the honey until the entire rim is coated.
  2. On a separate flat plate mix together the blue and red pop rocks.
  3. Set your coated glass rim into the pop rocks. Push the pop rocks around the rim until the rim is completely coated with pop rock candy. Set aside.

MAKE THE COCKTAIL:

  1. Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Pour the curacao, vodka and lemonade into your shaker.
  3. Shake until very cold.
  4. fill your rimmed cocktail glass with ice.
  5. Pour your cocktail into the rimmed cocktail glass.

‘Merica Cocktail

This ‘Merica cocktail will surely keep a whole houseful of guests satisfied!

Ingredients

  • Vodka
  • Lemon Juice
  • Sugar
  • Blue curacao
  • Grenadine

Instructions

  1. Mix vodka, sugar, and fresh squeezed lemon juice in shaker tin- pour into glass
  2. – Use spoon to sink grenadine to bottom of glass
  3. – Use spoon again to layer blue curacao on top of grenadine
  4. – Garnish with lemon or lime wheel

Red, White and Blue Shot

Ingredients

  • 1 part Blue Curacao Liqueur
  • 1 part Peacht Schnapps Liqueur
  • 1 part Grenadine

Instructions

  1. Pour grenadine into the bottom of a shot glass. Gently float Peach Schnapps over the grenadine.
  2. Gently top the shot glass with Blue Curacao Liqueur.
  3. Tip: Pour liqueur over the back of a spoon to maintain colour layers.

Red Hot American Shot

The recipe for a Red Hot Shot calls for Aftershock and Tequila. Hold onto your horses!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 shot Aftershock
  • 1/2 shot tequila

Instructions

Put the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir. Strain into a shot glass.
