A ‘Gorgeous’ addition to the Graham Beck Portfolio

The Graham Beck wine estate in Robertson has introduced an exciting new wine to its ever growing wine portfolio, with the launch of ”Gorgeous”.

“Gorgeous!” The exclamation was a favourite term of endearment by the late Graham Beck. Now, it is the name of a new wine in the cellar’s eponymous portfolio – a delectable blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

This fruit driven wine is ann easy-drinking lifestyle wine, which, although good value for money and lower in alcohol, still pays homage to the inherent noble complexity of these two varieties.

Gorgeous, is the first still wine produced from classic Methode Cap Classique varieties made by cellarmaster Pieter Ferreira.

“The quest to keep refining our Cap Classique craft has led to exciting innovations both in the cellar and our vineyards,” says Ferreira. “Gorgeous has been crafted using fruit from young, newly planted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards which are destined to become the foundation of our award winning MCC portfolio.

“This golden thread of excellence, passion and precision has now come full circle – offering wine lovers the opportunity to sip, savour and explore a still wine featuring the very varieties which will one day be used to produce a top quality bubbly.”

The wine’s appeal lies in its fruit succulence, drinkability and refreshment. The international move towards responsible alcohol consumption makes its lower alcohol of 11% even more attractive.

The Pinot Noir contributes the richness and backbone with hints of ripe berries and a touch of spice, while the Chardonnay lends fruit and elegance with its characteristic notes of peachy citrus brightness. Its vibrant, copper-tinged pink colour and eye-catching packaging make for a wine that is also visually appealing.

“Gorgeous is a truly unique combination in every aspect – a wine made with care and commitment, making it great to be enjoyed right now,” says Ferreira.

The wine is recommended as the ideal companion to a wide range of food including poultry, cream-based dishes, veal or salmon; or simply quaffed as an aperitif.

It truly is a wine destined to transform any occasion into a gorgeous experience – whether it be an elegant dinner party, glittering soiree or simply enjoyed ‘au natural’ at a casual impromptu get together with friends. Whatever the circumstances, Gorgeous is guaranteed to add glam to a gathering!
