A Tim Burton Themed Bar Named Beetle House Is Opening In NYC

At Beetle House, you can have a Jack Skellington cocktail after being greeted by a bouncer dressed as Beetlejuice.

New York City loves its oddball theme bars (perhaps as much as London). The team behind last year’s pop-up bar dedicated to the works of Will Ferrell is now bringing the Big Apple a Tim Burton-centric bar and restaurant, Beetle House, which is scheduled to open in the East Village late this month.

The food and drink menus are packed with Burton references, with cocktails inspired by characters like Jack Skellington of The Nightmare Before Christmas (rum, creme de coconut, lime juice) and Alice from Alice in Wonderland (peach vodka, gin, rum, tequila, peach schnapps, sour mix, Coke). On the food menu, expect typical bar fare with clever names like “Beetle Bread” bruschetta and Edward Burger Hands. If you’re concerned about the authenticity of those Sweeney Todd-esque meat pies, the menu bears this note: “All meat sourced locally from 100 percent innocent humans captured wild on the streets of NYC.” While Johnny Depp (probably) isn’t expected to make an appearance, the bouncer will reportedly be dressed as Beetlejuice, and will no doubt be asked to take tons of selfies with guests.
