AGP adds further credibility to Wines of Origin Franschhoek

Established in 2012 by like-minded Franschhoek winemakers, Clayton Reabow (Môreson Wines), Rob Armstrong (Haut Espoir) and Craig McNaught (Stonybrook), Appellation Grand Prestige (AGP) aims to recognize Franschhoek’s top homegrown wines.

This is achieved by recognizing a handful of ambassador wines each year who have excelled in national and international wine competitions as identified by AGP. These producers and their wines deemed to be worthy of representing Franschhoek, and more so the wines of origin, will receive AGP status which will be identified by elegantly eye catching quality seals displayed on the relevant ambassador wine for that year. The main focus of the initiative is to raise the profile of Franschhoek’s indigenous wines and in doing so create a sustainable grape-to-bottle environment within the valley.

“Franschhoek is regarded as one of South Africa’s premier wine destinations, and the support of this forward-thinking initiative adds further credibility to what we are trying to achieve in the valley and showcase to the rest of the world,” says Franschhoek Wine Valley CEO Jenny Prinsloo.
