A fiendishly tricky maths puzzle is the latest brainteaser to sweep the web, leaving hundreds confused and infuriated.

The riddle, which is being shared on Facebook, asks you to work out the value of a particular combination of beers and burgers.

It seems very simple – but it’s causing social media users to scratch their heads as they try (and often fail) to get it right.

Nearly 500 people have tried to work out the puzzle so far, with nearly as many different answers.

Jennifer Whitehorse, who shared the riddle, offered a hint: ‘If a bottle is 10; a burger is five; two beers is two; then “one” beer is one. Remember to MULTIPLY.’
