Beluga to release a $6,600 bottle Vodka in 2017

Russian vodka company Beluga will release a new, very high-end vodka, called the Epicure in 2017.

As you would expect, the price will match the brand: around $6,600 a bottle, placing it among the seven most expensive vodkas in the world.

The Epicure was unveiled in Russia at a closed dinner at the Residence of France followed by a presentation at the Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art fair. The first decanter was then sold on September 9th for €11,000 in the Off White charity auction to raise money for the Naked Heart Foundation, which works with children with disabilities across Russia.

So what are you getting for all that money? Born in a meeting between Beluga brand director Katerina Mechetina and Lalique creative director Marc Larminaux, Epicure is a collaboration between Beluga and French crystal master Lalique, which has made special, hand-crafted custom crystal decanters for the vodka in its Alsace, France, workshops. They’re then polished to perfection by a master polisher (which I confess I didn’t know was a thing), who refines the contrast between the clear and satin finished crystal. A unique serial number is engraved at the bottom.
