Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate opens a glamorous POP-UP Restaurant in Hermanus

Benguela Cove Investments is excited to announce the addition of a third restaurant to the ever growing Benguela Dining brand.

Penny Streeter OBE’s fabulous POP-UP restaurant will be situated for a few months within the impressive Benguela Manor amidst olive groves, lavender fields and vineyards. The POP-UP restaurant boasts panoramic views over the Bot River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean which sets the scene for a very relaxing dining experience.

Visitors to Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate and the POP-UP restaurant will enjoy a rare waterfront position, with captivating views over the lagoon to the Palmiet Mountains and the Kogelberg Biosphere Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The POP-UP restaurant will showcase the beautiful Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate for a few months over season whilst a new tourism center is being built. Once completed, this new center will include a fine dining restaurant, conference facilities, wine tasting facilities, wine cellar and delicatessen.

Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate’s unique terroir and favourable maritime conditions ensures quality grapes which, coupled with the skills of the winemaker, produce our award-winning wines. Our Benguela Cove and Matilda’s Secret ranges include single cultivar wines and blends produced from Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Cabernet Franc.

Guests are invited to enjoy either a two or three course meal prepared by Executive Chef Annelie Badenhorst. Chef Annelie’s training in classical French cooking at the Zevenwacht Chef School, combined with her love of comfort food, makes her the perfect fit for Benguela Cove’s POP-UP restaurant. Guests can expect fresh local food, with interesting flavours and exciting contemporary and new dishes with a French flair that excite the senses from Annelie’s kitchen.

As the POP-UP restaurant does not have a liquor license, Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate’s wines, which have been carefully paired to the food by Benguela Cove Group Sommelier Denis Garret, will be served on a complimentary basis. Alternatively, guests are also welcome to consume their own champagne, MCC or spirits on-site.

The Benguela Cove POP-UP restaurant is open for lunch from Thursday to Sunday and dinner from Thursday to Saturday. Book now by calling 087 357 0637 or visit to book online.
