Boplaas Bobbejaanberg Sauvignon Blanc 2017 will be a stellar vintage

The Boplaas Bobbejaanberg Sauvignon Blanc is named after after the marauding baboons (bobbejane in Afrikaans) which each year feast on the already meagre crop from the windswept vines, planted high up in the craggy peaks of the Outeniqua range in the Upper-Langkloof ward.

Being one of the coolest vineyards sites in South Africa, this Sauvignon Blanc is true to its cool climate origins and offers green aromatics, minerality, bright acidity and a fynbos finish.

The 2017 vintage will be hand harvested early in the mornings towards the end of March. The grapes are looking healthy and promising and we are looking forward to another stellar vintage.

The 2016 Boplaas Bobbejaanberg Sauvignon Blanc is currently available for tasting and purchases from our cellar door in Calitzdorp, as well our tasting room in Little Brak River along the Garden Route. Only 1400 cases of the Bobbejaanberg were crafted of this vintage. True to this wines cool climate origins, this wine will improve with bottle maturation over the coming few years.
