Boplaas well known for producing the “Best Port in South Africa” (Challenge 2015; 2014; 2013) is starting to make world class wines from Cape Portuguese Red cultivars.

Boplaas was the best producer of Cape Portuguese Red table wines at the Challenge 2015 by entering 4 of the Top 10 wines at the challenge (also in 2014).

The Boplaas Gamka 2012 (Touriga Nacional / Shiraz) blend got a double gold at Michelangelo and a Top 100 award. The Touriga Nacional Family Reserve was rated as the best Touriga ever from South Africa by Miguel Chan and also received a Top 100 award.

The Boplaas Tinta Barocca first produced in 1982 is very popular in South Africa and also exported to 10 different countries. This spicy fruit driven wine is a fantastic “food wine” and can be served with pastas, red meat dishes and even pizza.
