Cape Town Bistro introduces South Africa`s first Beer Lollies

When it’s summer in Cape Town, you occasionally need something delicious and frozen to distract you from the heat. Enter NOMAD Bistro Fusion. This quirky restaurant in the heart of the city has introduced the most delectable way to get your ice-cold calories on in town.

These guys make all kinds of delicious beer and wine infused ice lollies, a clever concept and a first for the Cape Town and South African restaurant scene.

Mohit Sureka of Nomad says: “Making ice lollies from beer and wine have been on our wish list since we launched in April, but just like many other new restaurants in the city, we were waiting on our liquor licence. Now that it’s approved, we are really excited to introduce these alcoholic treats to our customers.”

What makes NOMAD’s wine lollies simply irresistible is the sweet and spicy flavours it bring to the palate. Commercial wine lollies tend to taste sour and watery, but these ones are bursting with upfront fruit flavours and hints of spice.

The beer lollies – or in hipsters language “hopsicles” – are made from some of South Africa’s top craft ales and lagers. They are refreshing and one can definitely taste the yeasty, malty, and orangey notes that the beer brings to the party.

With an eye on innovation, the NOMAD Bistro Fusion team has lined up a series of exciting events for the festive season.

On Saturday, 3 December 2016, you can Un-WINE- d with NOMAD and suck on their custom wine popsicles, alongside wine cocktails and food wine pairings, with top Cape estates.

The Beer lollies will be the main act at the restaurant’s Tapped at NOMAD party on Saturday, 10 December 2016.
